UQ and IES Foundation Year clearly show their dedication in helping students adapt to new environments and achieve the most in their lives

Story

I studied IES Foundation Year for a year before starting my degree at UQ. I was awarded one of the scholarships made available exclusively to IES graduates by UQ. This scholarship provides 50% of my tuition fees for my Bachelor of Arts degree.  To me, UQ has not only rewarded my excellent academic performances in IES Foundation Year, but also encouraged me to carry it on at a higher level at UQ

The UQ campus is beautiful and provides students with a peaceful environment to study and enjoy campus life. UQ is a university which recognises students with outstanding academic achievement, helps them discover their gifts and talents, and assists them in achieving their goals. The courses at UQ are well-structured and in-depth, the lecturers are knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and patient.

In July 2009, I was officially employed as a university tutor for mathematics. I felt a strong sense of fulfillment with my ability to tutor other students. I was very thankful for the fact that UQ provided me with an opportunity to use my knowledge to have an impact on other students around me.

In 2010, I was offered a $5,000 scholarship to study at University of California San Diego (UCSD) as an exchange student through the 'UQ Abroad' program. I proudly represented UQ, China and Australia, and shared ideas with pQers and scholars in one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Uq and IES Foudnation Year clearly show their dedication in helping students adapt to new environments and achieve the most in their lives.
